Do you want a tap for your guest bathroom or the sanitary facilities in your restaurant, business or club? In places where lots of people wash their hands, cleanliness and hygiene are top priorities. This applies to fittings surfaces, too. hansgrohe understands the importance of hygiene in correct hand washing and has a range of contact-free taps.
Reasons to buy an electronic tap with contactless technology
No direct contact with the tap or operating lever. This improves hygiene at the wash basin, especially in sanitary facilities with many users.
The optimum water temperature is pre-set for correct hand washing, so there is no need for individual adjustments.
Water flows only when used. This saves resources during consumption and the energy used to heat the water. These taps are highly water-saving thanks to EcoSmart technology.
The shape of the electronic tap is easy and efficient to clean. The tap’s water flow can be manually stopped in order to clean the basin.
Hygiene meets design: The clear shape transforms electronic taps into eye-catchers on the wash basin and combines hygiene and attractive design for a great look in guest bathrooms.
Correct hand washing: The tap is not touched
Contact-free taps in sanitary facilities are great for remaining hygienic: The electronics make the water flow as if by magic, without the need to touch a lever or handle. Both when turning the tap on and off. Built-in proximity electronics with an infrared sensor detect hands in the wash basin, start the water flow automatically and stop it once the hands have been washed.

The intelligent way to save water and reduce energy needs
hansgrohe electronic taps come with EcoSmart technology and are therefore highly economical to use. The taps require just five litres per minute of water as standard. The clever combination of limiting the flow of water and adding air saves drinkable water and conserves resources.
hansgrohe AirPower technology enriches the water with air to provide a nice water jet with full, soft droplets. Adding air also reduces the risk of splashing at the wash basin. The lovely and soft jet allows water to be used more efficiently, and therefore less of it to be consumed.
hansgrohe offers consumers a five-year voluntary guarantee on its electronic taps with contactless technology. After all, offering our customers the highest quality at all times is a fundamental part of our company philosophy.
Contactless basin taps with infrared electronics for better hygiene are available in mains-operated and battery-powered variants. The taps can be fitted to any wash basin by a specialist. With mains-operated models, you also need to think about the power connection.
The mains-operated electronic tap uses a socket under the wash basin, which is connected to the supplied transformer for low-voltage uses (6 V). The box is also housed under the wash basin and is connected to the tap. The bathroom expert will respect the necessary safety distances.
The battery-operated contactless basin tap obtains the low-voltage power from a 6 V battery (type: CR-P2). This is used to connect the tap to the supplied box under the wash basin. The battery should last for around two years for correct hand washing and can be replaced.
The contactless tap is easy to set
The sensor electronics must be adapted to suit the requirements of the room, the wash basin’s size and its surface finish. hansgrohe electronic taps automatically adjust to their surroundings. A professional plumber will set the required water temperature for the contactless tap using the default settings. Models with temperature control come with a tap lever so that users can adjust the water temperature for hand washing to suit their needs.

Electronic installations for drinking water hygiene
Sanitary facilities in public and business settings are sometimes not in use for longer periods of time. If the water is not flowing and therefore sitting stagnant in the tap, it is more likely that the tap will become a breeding ground for Legionella, bacteria that cause pneumonia.
To prevent people from breathing in germ-infested spray when the tap is eventually turned on, a hygienic rinse can be activated in electronic taps. In a hygienic rinse, the water automatically flows for ten seconds, 24 hours after the tap was last used.
The tap also features a longer, three-minute rinse for thermal disinfection. Both functions can be activated by you, the operator or the building maintenance team.
